Spyder paintball guns have been around a long, long time; since 1992, Spyder’s parent company, the Kingman Group (which is why you’ll often see them listed as Kingman Spyder paintball guns), has been manufacturing some of the most dependable guns on the market at the most attractive prices. Spyder has become synonymous in the paintball world with reliability, performance and quality. Their most popular paintball guns include the Xtra, Imagine, Victor, Pilot, Sonix, Electra, the MR1 and the MR2. They also produce a wide selection of parts for modifications and upgrades.
About Spyder Paintball Markers
When Spyder first started out, they introduced the Hammer Series pump action marker and then quickly changed the face of paintball forever with their legendary Spyder semi-automatic series. Since that time, Spyder has been at the forefront of innovation in the paintballing industry, promoting and sponsoring the sport like no other company has before or since.
It is their keen eye and dedication to the player that allows them to place their highly skilled engineers to work on innovative features such as the “DLS” Dual Loading System and the First Strike option, which provide advanced accuracy for long range shots.
Spyder is also the first and only company that offers a full range of paintball caliber (sizes of the paintballs) to meet player’s individual preferences. This range includes the Spyder .68 Caliber, Spyder .50 Caliber and Kingman Training .43 Caliber. Their dedication to encompassing players of all ages, genders and skill levels into the game is apparent through their wide range of products.
The Spyder Classic Series
In 2008, the New Gen Electra & Pilot were introduced, boasting a shorter body that was a throwback to the old style valve and striker system. Equipped with a regulator and operating at 300 PSI low-pressure, it is a streamlined maker that is short, comfortable, light and fast with advanced electronics, making it one of the most popular gun series by any paintball company ever.
Three of their most popular items in this series are their entry-level paintball guns:
- Spyder Xtra: The classic entry-level mechanical marker featuring a two-finger trigger, an expansion chamber and a top cocking Delrin Bolt.
- Spyder Sonix: Another entry-level paintball gun with a two-finger trigger, gas-thru foregrip and a top cocking Delrin Bolt.
- Spyder Victor: The most basic marker Spyder makes, featuring a two-finger trigger, and Pull-Pin Top-Cocking Delrin Bolt.
The Spyder MR Series
The Spyder MR Series paintball guns are geared more towards Woodsball or scenario players (outdoor players). The most basic model in this series is the Spyder MR1 which features a detachable stock and is completely mechanical (an electronic MR1 version is available).
The Spyder MR2 is a military-style electronic marker, featuring an offset feed neck for rifle-like sighting and running on a 9.6 V rechargeable battery. Capable of firing 25 paintballs per second, it features automatic, semi-automatic, and burst fire modes that can easily be changed with a switch on the back of the pistol grip.
Spyder Paintball Guns in 2013
For the upcoming 2013 line, Spyder has introduced the electronic Spyder E-MR5, the Spyder MR5 semi-auto and the Spyder Hammer 7 pump-action paintball guns.
